We Have Your Number
Do you have your number at the street in both directions and on your home so that Police, Fire, or EMS Ambulance responders can find you quickly? These responders know where every street is, but they don’t know which house may be yours. Dukes County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatchers, via our Regional Communication Center, have your address when you telephone 911, however, valuable time is lost if first responders cannot easily see your house number to determine which house on the street is yours. Large easily visible street numbers that can be seen from the street in either direction will help. Remember - every second counts and minutes can save lives and your property.
The Dukes County Sheriff’s Office, through their Community Outreach Program, are installing, upon application, a red sign that displays 4-inch highly reflective numbers attached to a 2-foot post, which will be installed near your driveway/walkway where it will be visible from the street.
Made possible by a generous donation from the Dukes County Deputy Sheriff’s Association
